OUROS JEWELS ETSY REVIEW 2021 APRIL

Let me repeat my backstory...due to the workmanship issues my friend has encountered with James Allen (will blog about it later) and with me B2CJewels, I decided to decouple the following processes; 

(1) Purchase and delivery of the loose diamond 💎;
(2) Creation and delivery of the semi mount ring 💍; 
(3) Assembling the loose diamond together with the semi mount ring prior the polishing of the ring, for a squeaky clean finish and;

(4) Finally the ring is buffed to give it a shiny luster before it gets to sit on my finger! 🖐️  

The advantage of this approach is 2 fold; firstly the time taken will be shortened by half ⌛, since the delivery of the loose diamond and the creation and delivery of the semi mount ring will be done in parallel. Secondly, if there are any issues with the workmanship of the semi-mount ring, especially with the prongs, I can easily return it and purchase another one ✔️. 

OUROS Jewels was mentioned in the PriceScope forum a couple of times, and most of the reviews are positive. It provides shipping from India to worldwide and carries a diverse range of 10k, 14k, 18k gold and platinum semi-mount rings. Aside from semi-mounted rings, it also supplies earrings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets jewelry and lab grown diamonds.

What I have purchased

The semi-mount rings💍 which OUROS Jewels carries are very alluring; so much so that I have changed the choice of the semi-mount ring a few times, before deciding on the following one in 14k white gold.

I contacted the Vijay Sarkheliya the Etsy seller and he was extremely responsive, even during weekends! He was quick in his replies and I have a hard time catching up! 😄 Vijay is precise, to the point and was very professional and patient throughout the entire process. As I have never purchased from Etsy before, I have sent Vijay quite a number of emails before I decided to go ahead with my purchase. Furthermore, Vijay is quite proficient in English and never fails to amaze me with his responsiveness. He also provided a CAD image file and *drumrolls* a video of my semi-mount ring, after the confirmation of my order. 📦

Waiting time and delivery

My purchase was in March and my order took around 3-4 weeks to manufacture and arrive by standard UPS shipping.  Hence, please top up and opt for express shipping via UPS and DHL if you do not wish to wait (btw I do not recommend FedEx due my past bad experiences). Once the order has been shipped, the tracking number will be provided in Etsy account. The wait is long but my patience was rewarded when the semi-mount ring set, with lab pave diamonds arrived in the trademark navy blue jewelry box. 

Quality of the product

4.5 out of 5 (Nearly perfect)

With the help of the 30x scope, I was able to check the workmanship of these rings. The pave diamonds are honestly brighter and more sparkly than my mined ones *yay*. The prongs are aligned perfectly and the pave diamonds looked securely set. However, to my slight disappointment, there is a tiny dent at the ring bridge visible under 10x scope. Fortunately, this was not really visible when viewed with naked eyes. 

It is interesting to observe that the lab pave diamonds do not have fluorescence under UV lighting. The dimensions of the halo and lab pave diamonds are as described in the Etsy product description pages. As promised, the semi-mounted ring has been correctly stamped with 14k gold marking.

The semi-mounted ring fit perfectly with the diamond once it set. I think my loose diamond looked slightly puny with this design and I should have chosen one with a thinner prongs. Nevertheless, I was informed by the diamond setter that the semi-mount ring is made with good quality 14k white gold, and it took him slightly longer to set the loose diamond since the prongs are slightly harder.  ✨

My Takeaway

I was slightly let down by the dent found on the ring surface, but the quality of the sparkly lab pave diamonds made up for the disappointment. Aside from the semi-mounted rings, OUROS Jewels  is actually more renowned for their in-house loose lab diamonds and diamond jewelry. Their range of amazing lab diamond jewelry designs are worth to check out and therefore, I definitely will consider purchasing from OUROS Jewels again in future. 😃
